The INTERNATIONAL LDLT GROUP

The international Living Donor Liver Transplantation Group, has been founded as a corollary of the successful FIVE CENTRE ASIAN LDLT meetings.

These centers were Kyoto (Prof. Koichi TANAKA) and Tokyo (Prof. Masatoshi MAKUUCHI) Universities, Kaohsiung Chung Gang Memorial Hospital (Prof. Chao-Long CHEN), Queen Elisabeth Hospital Hong Kong (Profs ST.Fan and CM.LO).

The experts belonging to these centers finally took the initiative to create in 2014 a formal study group focusing on the further development of LDLT.

 

AIM

  • to spread and promote the knowledge about LDLT on a worldwide scale
  • to exchange the expertise between LDLT the medical and surgical leaders in order to continuously improve the results even in very sick patients0

The office is based in Seoul, South Korea.
The administrative secretariat is runned by Mrs.Liz KIM from INSESSION PCO.

BELGIAN SECTION OF HEPATO-BILIARY AND PANCREATIC SURGERY (BSHPBS)

The Section was created on April 28th, 2000 by a group of Belgian surgeons with a special interest and expertise in Hepato-Biliary and Pancreatic Surgery. This Section is a subgroup of the Royal Belgian Society for Surgery (RBSS). One member of the Section represents  the Section in the Board of the RBSS. The official language is English.

 

AIM

Principal

  • To develop the speciality of HBP surgery and to improve its quality in Belgium.
  • To represent HBP surgeons from Belgium.
  • To establish and maintain relations with Belgian, European or other national and international organisations, societies, and councils.

Scientific objectives

  • To improve knowledge of HBP surgery in Belgium.
  • To organize scientific meetings and workshops either for all members or for working groups. Scientific meetings of the Section are organised in the context of the scientific program of the RBSS, including yearly the Belgian Week of Surgery (BSW). Yearly, a Post-Graduate Course (PGC) is organized to share experience, knowledge and state-of-the-art management of HPB pathology with the surgical community and trainees.
  • To support clinical or experimental studies in the field of HBP Surgery.
  • To Improve quality of HBP surgery by increasing knowledge and skills as well as on continuous survey and audit of training and practice.

BELGIAN NATIONAL CHAPTER OF HPB SURGERY

The Section created the Belgian National Chapter in the International Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Association (IHPBA) in January 2019.

 

AIM

  • To promote scientific research in clinical and basic science in HPB surgery
  • To organize scientific meetings and congresses
  • To share experience and knowledge between surgeons and scientists in a national and international level
